Bio

Darmon King was born musically thanks to his father. He recorded his first tape at the age of three, and he has also appeared in various performances and musicals throughout his life. Always navigating within the world of music, at the age of 11 he discovered hip-hop. Since then he has participated in numerous and diverse freestyle contests. His first line of rap verse ever engraved dates back to 1998, and appears in the compilation “Underground Skills”. The piece in question was called “Libero Stile”. His first true collection of work was back in 2001 with the well publicized, “Tha Whore-Master”, but it was unfortunately taken off record store shelves after only a month and a half for its misogynist and anti-clerical nature. What followed was a very difficult period for Darmon King, as he faced multiple obscenity-related charges concerning the albums explicit lyrics. Two years later a tragic event changed his life – his best friend died in a diving accident – and everything seemed to come to a crashing end. Sentiments which are now echoed in the words of many of his songs, “I know what its like to touch rock bottom.” But sometimes we all need to start over again. The tattoo on his arm features the initials of the friend who passed on, in addition to the initials of his crew, and in every musical piece recorded by him thereafter there is always a reference to the past so as not to forget. The years that followed were dedicated to the creation of various mixtapes and experimentation. Then in 2005, tragedy struck again – his mother fell gravely ill. To deal with the situation, he set out on the creation of a new album. It should be released within the first months of 2007 and is called “Real Biography…”. The album also features the participation of several noted names from the Italian hip-hop scene.
“Real Biography…” (2007) is a work entirely dedicated to a best friend who has passed away.
Many Rappers from the Italian Hip Hop scene have contributed to the album including, Daniel Mendoza, MC Shark, Gemello, Massilla, Profeta Matto, Kiave, Malaisa, Kento, Lord Madness, Fredd Morton and many more….
"Real Biography ..." is a concept album. A dedication to all those who pass before their time and to those that still believe in better days. A message to a best friend who’s life was cut too short, too soon.
Five songs that have had radio play are : “Going On”, “Criptonite” featuring Gemello, “Giorni Migliori” featuring the “Zulu King” MC Shark and the Italo-Argentine singer Lara, “Verità Nascoste” e “Ricordi 9-03” which iswithout doubt the song that mainly contains the meaning of whole album. An album that talks of unattainable prospects and how sometimes destiny can change a life that is so full of dreams.
“Ruffneck Network” (2007) with Lord Madness was released a few months after the previous. This album is entirely based on the use of punchlines and represents a particular period in their production. Darmon King: “Madness had just left Gli Inquilini and I was in the middle of promotion for “Real Biography…”. We created an album that is a collection of songs that we had done in the last period, which will definitely have a sequel”. This album has become “cult” in the underground scene reaching 11000 downloads.
